It's interesting thinking about the regulations here in Leviticus regarding who you cannot have sex with. Today we know these things almost intuitively but that's because we have had the Bible and thousands of years of following the sexual proscriptions here in Leviticus. During this time period and in the people groups that lived in the middle east it was not uncommon for sexual relations to take place between relatives whom we would consider completely off limits today. Even some of the patriarchs did this, even though they were definitely pre-mosaic.
