In the first passage, it amazes me how flexible God is in His dealings with the Gadites and Reubenites, while insisting on the larger issues of freedom from fear and unity in Israel's defense. Reading the 30+ verses of travel itinerary later in the passage reminds me that God remembers each day, each step of my life's pilgrimage and is working to integrate them into His call for my life.
