The story of Joseph amazes me. I wish we knew more about how he processed through such difficult things and remained a faithful follower of God. How did he pull himself out of hate, bitterness, resentment, hopelessness. It seems that he accepts it and moves on with such ease, but surely that was not always the case. Even though many things were returned to Joseph, he never saw his mom again. He was still able to forgive his brothers. That is such an example to me!
ReplyDeleteMatthew 13
ReplyDelete44 Jesus said, "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."
These two parables are so cool. When I first experienced God after years of being without Him, there was nothing that I would trade for Him. The value of the Kingdom of God is greater than anything on this planet... and beyond. What's so crazy is that the price of our acceptance into the Kingdom of Heaven is our willingness to totally let go and believe in His son Jesus and follow Him. Everyone can afford it!
Oh, how amazing is that.
