  1. Two things stood out to me today. Actually, a lot stood out because there is so much cool stuff going on in these texts. Genesis 3:21-22 really stood out the most. First, in verse 21, it says that God made clothes for Adam and Eve right after he disciplines them. I never noticed that before. To me, it shows God compassion towards the circumstance that came with their mistake of eating the apple. It must have broke his heart to see Adam and Eve in this condition.

In verse 22, you can hear a conversation between the Trinity about Adam and Eve. I don't know of very many places in the Bible where this takes place, so this is a unique verse.

  2. It's Genesis again today for me; such an amazing book, no matter how many times you've read it.

I was thinking this morning about the tree next to the forbidden one: the tree of life. They could have eaten from that one and lived forever, like God! Interesting how that was Gods first thought after their sin: they might eat from it and live forever. Before the fall that would have been great, after, not so much.
I also think its interesting that the serpent isn't really lying, but deceving. It's true, even God said, 'look they have become like us..' but it carried so many more implications than just knowing good & evil.
As a parent of little kids, how i wish my kids could just stay like they are forever, innocent and naiive, trusting, fearless. They don't worry about anything!(except if someone has what they want). Our 4 & 6 year old girls hardly ever wear clothes around the house, how free is that!?
Then in v7 isn't it interesting that Cain chose to act on rage and kill his brother rather than just do what God said. It's easy to say 'how dumb was he!?' but im sure we can all think of a time when we just went with our emotions instead of putting in the effort to do the right thing.
